Il Monte Forato

Remembering the Mountain, 2012 (oil on canvas, 90cm x 120cm)

The view of this mountain in the Tuscan Alpi Apuane made a great impression on Galeotti in 2011, and moved him to paint So far, he has produced 6 paintings: grandiose vistas with intense colours.

The dominant form of the mountain is so massive that it lends itself to the monumental vision of the artist. There is a sense of mystery in these landscapes; the wonder of man facing nature, and one perceives that this work was produced not on site, but in the studio, through the filter of the painter’s memory.
